3 Broomsticks

This recipe is a direct clone of the butter beer I made earlier. I renamed it to continue the Wizard theme. Butter beer is a caramel flavored cream/blonde ale with tons of oats. Hefty amounts of Maris Otter and Golden Promise malts give this beer a nice malty flavor. This time I used EKG and Vanguard hops instead of Saaz. I am interested in how it turns out with these hops.

DopFiend V2

An instant favorite of my friends. I wanted to see how well my brewing recreation could reproduce this dopplebock. Lager yeast need a lower temperature and a steady one too. These next 8 weeks will be long, but I’m sure the Toasty Bastard and HoeBaanger will get me through the time. I pulled my pilsner Pillow Talk out and into the keg. Should make for great drinking.

Juicy McJuice

I felt the need for some juice in my life. I have had tons of juicy IPAs and I wanted to bring back an old favorite recipe of mine. Another try to remake some of the dusty recipes I had all but forgotten in my pursuit of making great beer. Using lots of Citra and Mosaic hops to push the envelope on what makes a hazy IPA. Gotta love those oats!

Stoutnik

Lovingly utilizing a single origin roasted malt from Mecca Grade, a delightfully nonconformist beer. Perfect for those single speed cruisers in the new low ABV crowd. Like a pair of horn-rimmed sunglasses and just as dark. Smooth and enticing on the palate and goes well with kale chips, tofu and sustainable organic food trucks. Put on your flannel DIY raw denim and listen to some 8-bit vynil while drinkin from your shaman heirloom copper mug. Brewed and asthetically foraged with East Kent Goldings with a retro amount of 1.4 oz at 60 minutes and Hersbrucker gluten free hops .5oz at 40 minutes.

OctoBlonde

My initial intention was to make a brown ale. The color came out really light. I’m interested to see how this one turns out, as the grains were similar to other recipes I have liked before. It reminds me of the butter beer recipe I made a few weeks earlier and I hope it has a roastier character. 1 oz of East Kent at 60 and . 5 Styrian Goldings at 20 minutes.

HoeBaanger V2

This was one of the most challenging beers to get to taste right. I feel like this batch really did it justice. I refined my technique and it showed. A 1/2 oz EKG at 45 of the boil and the same for Saaz at 15 and flame out.

Toasty Bastard

I have made several versions of this and I wanted to make a new spin on an old favorite. Chinook hops were added at 1oz at 75, and .5 at 60, 45, 30, and 15. The hops are why this is a very bitter and the special b really make for a roasty re-thinking of the recipe. Be worthy.

Butter Beer

A lovely beer I copied from a local brewery after they stopped making it. I really missed it and I think I will be making a lot more for the Christmas season after this trial attempt. I was very happy with the result and I hope that the following batches will be just as good. Made with .5 oz of Saaz at 60 and 45 with Styrian Golding at 30 mins in the boil. After boil gravity came to 1.065.
