StrataFried

This is a clone of a favorite from a brewery I receive my grain from. I was able to get some Strata hops and a recipe that is in the spirit of the original beer. This is not a direct clone, but a re-imagining of what I would like the beer to be. A regular west coast IPA with wheat, oats, corn and some love.

Juicy McJuice

I felt the need for some juice in my life. I have had tons of juicy IPAs and I wanted to bring back an old favorite recipe of mine. Another try to remake some of the dusty recipes I had all but forgotten in my pursuit of making great beer. Using lots of Citra and Mosaic hops to push the envelope on what makes a hazy IPA. Gotta love those oats!

Cali IPA

I love a good West Coast IPA. I had played around making juicy IPAs, but I wanted to revisit making a really smooth West Coast version. I added a ton of 2 row malt and a splash of flaked rye for a rich malty flavor.

Oinker

Chasing beers that I have tasted elsewhere always lead me into trouble. Glorious time allocating adventures into flavors and locations unknown. A new frontier awaits and then burns you out. I tasted a Blind Pig and thought I could do the same. These hop schedules are not easy in IPA territory and the amount of grain had me spilling over more than I liked. After this beer I held back on IPAs because I wanted something more robust than grassy flavors. I love a good IPA, just not all the time. Tastes change and hearts change. I changed with this labor of love and rarely made it again.

Juicy McJuice

Still tweaking this recipe and making it unique. Using lots of Citra and Mosaic hops with a really tough schedule quite normal for an IPA. Trying out these oat malts to enhance some flavors.

Juicy McJuice

A hazy IPA recipe I have been trying with a friend. We wanted to get a sense of how maniacal a hop schedule we could get and how we could work in dry hopping.

Rolled Oats2 lbs
Crystal 30.75 lbs
Golden Promise2lbs

Mango Habanero IPA

A new experiment to heat up a west coast IPA recipe. At the time we were thinking about the spicy IPAs that were going around. Some of them were too spicy and we wanted to make some that had little heat and more pepper flavor. The first in the triple brew day and one of the easiest.

Type of IngredientAmount
2 Row9 lbs
Crystal 20.75 lbs

Citra 2 Row Sorta Smash

A Citra IPA I was experimenting making IPAs. Getting the hang of documenting all of my recipes and brewing as much as I could. I wanted a drinkable west coast IPA and it turned out well. Part of a triple brew day that started at 9am and went until 9pm.

Type of IngredientAmount
2 Row13 lbs.
Honey Malt1 lb.
Crystal 151 lb.
Corn Sugar – Dextrose1 lb.
Melanoidin.5 lbs.
