OatStout

I was gifted some 2 Row and I thought I would go out and get a few ingredients and see if I could whip something up really quickly. Seat of the pants-type stuff. Really pushing the boundaries. I went into my local brew shop and told them that I had a ton of 2 Row and wanted to make a stout. 1 0z of EKG in at 60 and 20 mins. SafAle 05 and into the fermentation fridge. November should be a great time to crack open one of these.

Atrament

I went back to the drawing board and really did some research to get an American Stout recipe. With all the adjuncts everyone adds to their stout recipes; I wanted to get something pure and simple. This recipe is a style I love with some great flavors without the oatmeal I usually add in. EKG and Magnum hops in at the right times.

Barrel Friendly Breakfast Cake Stout

I have a local friend I wanted to brew with and he wanted something special. A wide-awake version of my birthday cake stout that he could transfer to oak bourbon barrels. To this day he is still using the 5 gallon batch and stuffing coconut into it.

Update 4/27/2022 – Yep still adding coconut, now 3lbs of it is in a 1 gallon batch that is left.

Chocolate Birthday Cake Stout

I searched far and wide for a “Pastry Stout” to satisfy my curiosity of what sufficed as such. I wanted a birthday cake stout that resembled one of my favorite beers. Difficult to make, yet savory on the palate.

Stoutnik

Lovingly utilizing a single origin roasted malt from Mecca Grade, a delightfully nonconformist beer. Perfect for those single speed cruisers in the new low ABV crowd. Like a pair of horn-rimmed sunglasses and just as dark. Smooth and enticing on the palate and goes well with kale chips, tofu and sustainable organic food trucks. Put on your flannel DIY raw denim and listen to some 8-bit vynil while drinkin from your shaman heirloom copper mug. Brewed and asthetically foraged with East Kent Goldings with a retro amount of 1.4 oz at 60 minutes and Hersbrucker gluten free hops .5oz at 40 minutes.
