Hobo Hefeweizen

A beer I love and hope to keep on tap regularly. Keeping this recipe alive and brewing in a decent frequency. I added more re-circulation to the process to hope for a better outcome than the last batch.

Pretty Rye for a Wit Guy

We looked around for a Wit Beer recipe that would satisfy our Spring thirsts. 2 pounds of frozen raspberries went into secondary on this. A mostly White Wheat recipe with lots of Belgian Pale Malt. We had to get the recipe to get sweet enough to add the tart raspberries and make sure the hops lent their flavor nicely. A half a pound of sugar added to the raspberries really helped this recipe shine.

Hobo Hefeweizen

I love making this beer and it shows. A large amount of white wheat and a blend of Pilsen and Munich malts imbue this beer with a great flavor. A classic recipe in my eyes for it’s easy drinking nature.

Hobo Hefeweizen

A second try at getting a good hefeweizen recipe going. Tweaking the hop schedule to include more bittering hops this time. Hersbrucker and Willamette were on sale with time with a bit of Tettnang for good measure in the aroma.

Pale Ale Hefeweizen

Got a recipe from BrewersFriend.com I thought I would try out and maybe tweak later. A pale ale recipe I used Hefeweizen yeast to change this up and impart some flavors to. Using Magnum and simcoe hops. Part of a double brew day this was the second brew and we ran out of San Diego Super yeast. Had to use Hef yeast WLP 320. The flavor really threw us off track as a hoppy hefeweizen, but tasted great.
